Standing in the center of a circle
Directions intersect
The golden space inside
In silence my reflection is mirrored
By trees and wind and birds
And Earth and Sky
Woman walks thru the fire
Of the setting sun
Whispering a dark picture
Of desire and longing
In a red desert chill
My heart grows still
She calls my name
In a haunting shadow song
I say to myself
I’m tired of dying
As I drink in a vision
Of what’s left of me
A child takes my hand and says
“This really is all that is seems
You know it’s never only a dream”
Wandering in a crowd of people
Each soul a face I almost recognize
A message from a man
With a mission takes my hand
Leads me to a mountain I begin to climb
Voices drift on the promise
Of the rising sun
Lifting my heart from fear
To love and longing
In a blanket of spring
Green mountains sing
I reach out and embrace
This radiant song
And I say to myself
I’m no longer hiding
As the source opens
Lucid and wide
The old crone says to me
“You know that you know what we need
And you know it’s never only a dream”
